Translational Neuroimmunology Group

We study how metabolic changes in microglia and immune signalling converge to alter disease progression in neurodegeneration. In ageing and in conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, microglial signalling becomes impaired and contributes to chronic inflammation.

We combine transgenic models, primary cultures, human iPSCs and clinical samples in multi-omic studies of microglial innate immune responses, microglial immunometabolism, and environmental factors such as Western diet that drive neuroinflammation.
